Save the Date! October 9th 2021
The 2021 Parade of Champions will be honoring our Community and Frontline Heroes—in Person
The Santa Clara Parade of Champions, established in 1945 to welcome back our WWII heroes. After 17 months of SIP, the community is ready to gather in its historic downtown on Saturday, October 9, at 11 a.m. to honor our 2021 community and frontline heroes. Our Parade has deep roots for over half a century, and is one of the most unifying events in the history of Santa Clara. At its peak, it was the second largest parade in the state of California. This year’s Festivities will be livestreamed and recorded to be shown on City Channel 15 or 99 weeks after the parade. Please check your local cable listings for times. The parade event will have floats, 20ft balloons, marching bands, equestrians, sports teams, theatre and art, robotics, classic cars and a host of diverse youth and multicultural community service groups. You can bring your own chair to sit along the route or reserve a SCPOC bleacher seat online at our website—proceeds go to support our parade operations.
Festivities and entertainment begin at Franklin Square at 8 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m. The morning starts with the SC Farmer’s Market, and the “Homestead Community Village” booth area, opening pre-parade ceremony at 10:30 a.m., parade at 11 a.m., ending the day’s fun with “Salsa on the Square” with Salson and sponsored by downtown Volare Studios from 1:30 until 5 p.m. Franklin Square will be buzzing with community activities, live music and entertainment. There will be multicultural and diverse community booths, dining and shops to enjoy. Our Nonprofit 501c3 relies on the volunteerism of our Board of Directors and community and the support and donations of our civic and businesses leaders each year. Special thanks to our Grant Donors, the City of Santa Clara for their support of City services, and the County Board of Supervisors. It takes a Village!
